Thermal Efficiency of COLORBOND® steel Walling

Thermal Efficiency Walling Header

Surviving a long, hot Aussie summer can be a lot easier with lightweight, insulated walling made from COLORBOND® steel.

Because steel has a relatively low thermal mass - in layperson's terms, it's thin - it doesn't store and radiate heat from the sun like bricks or masonry.

At night, materials with a high thermal mass can radiate heat into your home long after the sun has gone down. Steel, on the other hand, cools down quickly after the sun is no longer shining directly on it.

Lighter colours - and there's plenty to choose from in the COLORBOND® steel range - are even better at this than darker colours.

In winter the same steel walling, properly insulated, helps keep the heat inside.
