COLORBOND® steel Featured In Australia Post Corrugated Iron Stamp Collection

Iconic Australian brands COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel are featured in the new Corrugated Iron stamp collection from Australian Post which pays homage to Australia's love affair with corrugated iron.

With a history extending over 40 years, COLORBOND® and Australia are interwoven with 90% of new homes in Australia featuring products made from COLORBOND® steel, whether it be for the roof, walls, fence, gutter, downpipes, letterbox or even the dog kennel. It is a classic Australian building product that has become as much a part of the Australian landscape as the wide open spaces of the outback and the golden sandy beaches on the coast.

"It's difficult to think of another building material that has had such an effect on our built environment," said Ian Keirnan AO, Chairman and Founder, Clean Up Australia. "It has helped shape and shelter our nation and brought colour to our lives."

In 1966, the first coil of COLORBOND® steel was rolled off the Number 1 coil-painting line at Port Kembla, New South Wales and since then approximately six million tonnes of COLORBOND® steel has been produced. Additional paint lines have also been set up in Western Port, Victoria, in Acacia Ridge, Queensland and most recently in Erskine Park, New South Wales.

The Corrugated Iron stamp collection features landscapes that populate Australia's country and suburban environments including a water tank, traditional home, shearing shed and Magney House by famed steel centric architect, Glenn Murcutt.

"COLORBOND® steel captures the essence of Australian living and even after over 40 years in the industry it's still building beautifully," said Brian Kelly, National Marketing Manager, Building Markets, BlueScope Steel.

"Like no other building material COLORBOND® steel links our past, defines our present and points to our future. We are honoured to have COLORBOND® recognised by Australia Post and featured in their Corrugated Iron stamp collection."

Australia Post Corrugated Iron stamp collection is now available for purchase at all participating Australia Post stores.
